We will be grounding our meeting in this updated, important report from the Brennan Center for Justice (available here). This report examines DOJ/DHS-funded projects and raises questions about the effectiveness of programs that focus on victims of violence in addressing structural issues related to violence. Over the last four years, the TRUST Network has brought together structural reform, bridge-building and peacebuilding organizations, social and racial justice activists, and legal actors to collaborate and connect our work. In that spirit, we would like to review this report and discuss what is and is not working for our stakeholders who are DOJ/DHS grant recipients. We extend a special invitation to those of who are implementing some of these grants.
The full agenda for our meeting is included below. March 12th at 2pm ET:
2-2:15: Welcome & TRUST Network update (10 cities we have identified to partner with and opportunities for local connections) 2:15-2:45: Round Robin stakeholder share out (each stakeholder shares current happenings roughly 5 mins each) 2:45-3: Discuss findings from the Brennan Center for Justice report
