Dear {{Constituent First Name}},
The TRUST Network invites you to a timely stakeholder meeting, Tuesday, September 9, 2:00 p.m. ET, on the ongoing reshaping of U.S. electoral maps, the practice of gerrymandering, and the resulting challenges to the health and functioning of American democracy. Register here for the Zoom Link.
This structured discussion will examine how electoral design influences representation, trust, and social cohesion—core elements of a resilient democratic system.
This dialogue has moved from the FIXUS list to the full national TRUST Network, engaging participants across our four key sectors: bridgebuilding and peacebuilding, civil resistance, structural reform, and the legal and judiciary fields. We are honored to welcome two distinguished speakers:
Carah Ong Whaley, PhD – Executive Director, Better Choices for Democracy
James Coan – Co-Founder and Executive Director, More Like US
Kevin Johnson - Co-Founder and Executive Director, Election Reformers Network
Together, we will explore the implications of current developments and consider strategies to strengthen democratic practice in a time of significant change.
Here is the Zoom link for our next TRUST Network Convening on Tuesday, September 9, at 2:00 p.m. ET. Register here for the Zoom Link.
UAH Week (October 19-25th)
We’re under two months out from United Against Hate Week(UAH Week), a national week of civic action from October 19th to 25th that empowers local leaders, schools, and organizations to counter hate, promote safety, and foster a sense of belonging for all. Administered by Bedrock partner Not In Our Town (NIOT), the campaign provides simple and effective ways to engage new audiences and deepen impact in your community, advancing our network’s shared mission to prevent hate-fueled and politically motivated violence.
Here’s how you can get involved:
Share UAH Week information with your networks on social media and your newsletters. Use this sample post: “Join a week of civic action: October 19–25! Unite our communities to stand up to hate. Learn more, sign up, and find posters, pledges, and Action Kits at unitedagainsthateweek.org.”
Plan or support a local UAH Week activity in your area. UAH Week 2024 activities included block parties, unity walks, transit billboards, community art projects, bystander intervention trainings, high school game nights, film screenings, and more!
UAH Week has been featured in the National Civic League Civic ActionNewsletter, supported by major civic and law enforcement organizations across California, and promoted nationally by municipal and law enforcement associations. These partnerships can serve as models for engagement in other states.
